Movie Review: Love, Rosie
written on Monday, 3 November 2014 @ 10:30 ✈
I've always been a fan of Lily Collins. Mostly because of her fantastic eyebrows. Somehow I see Lily and Sam as Clary and Finnick in this movie or maybe that's just me. The film adaptation of Cecelia Ahern's novel "Where Rainbows End" is about two best friends Rosie and Alex constantly playing at the edge between friendship and love. It showed how their life changed dramatically over twelve years (though a friend of mine told me, in the book they actually got back together in their 40's but that's okay). I have always admire the idea of friends-turned-lovers kind of love.
The core relationship between Rosie and Alex, two young people who have been friends since childhood, despite their mutual affection they risk to take it for granted. During the high-school prom, both decided to accompany their own crushes instead of each other. Because of that, they had to face the far-reaching consequences. Rosie is beautiful, lovable and looks like a fun person to be around with. I think Lily played the role really well despite her not being an 18 year-old. While Alex, played by Sam Claflin, is charming, funny, and a little bit awkward. You'll root for them the moment you see them together, plus they have undeniably good chemistry. After high school, they separate to live on different paths. Alex goes to Boston to study medicine while Rosie remains in England and goes through challenges as a single mother. The two stay in touch via email and instant messenger. Both characters are sufficiently flawed, including their bad marriages with other person, it's a tough road for them.
My favorite is the part when Alex tells Rosie about his bizarre dreams. I don't know why but I understand him(?). It's so good to have someone who understands you and accept that little weird part of you too. It is important to be honest, especially with yourself. Sometimes you don't realize that what really matters in your life is right under your nose. I've never read the book, but the movie is shot beautifully. It made me laugh and sigh with frustration, maybe made me cry a little bit. A romantic comedy worth watching.Labels: movie, movie review

Hi! So there's nothing much going to be around here. I read a lot. I read almost everything that has print on it. Everything from flowery romance to pretentious fiction to poetry. If you came here to stalk on my activities, then you've came to the wrong place. There's a special place for that but I'm not gonna speak of it here. Here is the place where I rant about books (mostly), musics, tv shows, movies, foods, and my personal opinion about all kind of stuff which I would like to share. I don't really share in real life, especially food. But I'll make this an exception (i'll share the pictures of food). So if you don't mind reading my rambles, fair warning; you may not be able to understand a single word I'm going to say because of my overflowing emotions. But just take the chance anyways. Oh this isn't a diary, just so you know.
