A vagabond at heart.

Talk: Just want you to know that it's still Ramadhan.
written on Friday, 19 July 2013 @ 11:38 ✈

As you all aware, we are in the month of Ramadhan now. In fact, today is already the 11th day of Ramadhan! See how fast the time flies?! However we still have like 18 days to go. 18 days to improve ourselves. 18 days to work on our inner strength. 18 days to do a lot of ibadah and charity. 18 days left that is full of barakah. 18 days before the shaitaan be released. 18 days before all hells break lose.

It's time to fasten your pace, people. It's time to be more productive. Ramadhan is a worship festival where we feed our soul instead of our body. Fasting is more than just about improving our physical condition, but it surrounds the entire aspect of oneself; including emotional and spiritual aspects. It meant to train us as a whole. However, what makes me wonder is I already hear fireworks here and there. I mean, we're not even half-way through yet.

In my opinion, the determinant for a successful Ramadhan is not in its beginning nor its end but the consistency maintained in the middle. I know some of us are counting the days until Syawal as if they can't wait until Ramadhan is over because their Ramadhan spirit has slowly fade away. So let's renew our intention. We don't want to be among those people who gains nothing during Ramadhan except hunger and thirst and tiredness. It'd be a waste.

"Perhaps a fasting person gains nothing from his fast except hunger and thirst." (Ibn Majah, No. 1690)

Make this Ramadhan counts.
