Book Review : The Mortal Instruments, City of Bones (Book One)
written on Thursday, 18 April 2013 @ 21:36 ✈
Title: City Of Bones
Series: The Mortal Instruments (Book One)
Author: Cassandra Clare
Publisher: Margaret K. McElderry Books
Publication Date: March 27, 2007
Description from Goodreads: When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .
Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

First of all, hi. This is the first time I'm writing book review on an actual blog. Well, I did write a few before but it was very unprofessionally written. I'm not expecting this to be 'professionally written' though. I prefer to be spontaneous about it and just ramble about the book and everything.
So about this book, The Mortal Instruments series is getting pretty famous nowadays among the book readers. And so been told that the first book, City of Bones, is soon to be on the big screen this year. (I'm looking forward to it!)
To be frank, I really enjoy this book. For the first time I really enjoy reading dark and emotionally intense story. I love Jace Wayland. I find his character very attractive and quiet inspiring at times. The way he focus his life on killing demons and how he cannot be romantic and so full of himself. I mean hey, it's just Jace being Jace. Although the plotlines are at times, a little bit confusing. I had a lot of jaw-dropping moments while I read it. A lot of surprising events that makes me want to know more what happens next. Some of the best parts (in my opinion) are about the relationship between Clary and Jace, Clary's real identity, about the Shadowhunters, Downworlders like werewolves and vampires and more. The characters are always sarcastic and funny, it kept me entertained. About the kissy part? Let's just say I always knew Jace had something for Clary. I know Jace somehow has feelings. By the way, I really wish Alec would end up with some great girl. Oh well.
The end of the book is a bit of cliffhanger of course. I'm still reading the second book, City of Ashes. Expect me to write a review for it soon :)

Hi! So there's nothing much going to be around here. I read a lot. I read almost everything that has print on it. Everything from flowery romance to pretentious fiction to poetry. If you came here to stalk on my activities, then you've came to the wrong place. There's a special place for that but I'm not gonna speak of it here. Here is the place where I rant about books (mostly), musics, tv shows, movies, foods, and my personal opinion about all kind of stuff which I would like to share. I don't really share in real life, especially food. But I'll make this an exception (i'll share the pictures of food). So if you don't mind reading my rambles, fair warning; you may not be able to understand a single word I'm going to say because of my overflowing emotions. But just take the chance anyways. Oh this isn't a diary, just so you know.
